Catching up!

I am so sorry it has been so long since I have put up a post of what Miss Jacey Kate has been up to these days. We have been out of town a lot the past few weekends which has not given me much time to get anything done around the house or to do any blogging! I have been taking pictures though! Enjoy!...

It seems as though Jacey has discovered her tongue! She has been sticking it out a lot here lately. It cracks me up every time. I managed to catch her in action! haha



She was having a ball in her jumper. She was jumping and spinning and squealing and just loving every minute of it!

This is my precious angel when she wakes up in the morning! This is the sweet face I see every time I go in her room to get her. She is such a happy little girl! I will never forget how special it is every morning when I get to hold her and love on her very first thing in the morning. She makes every morning wonderful! Oh, how I love my baby girl! =)

She has started sleeping in her room and loving it. She had been sleeping at the end of our bed in her bassinet every since she was born, but we finally decided to try her out in her room. It was hard the first few nights. I missed having her close, and I got up probably every couple of hours and went to check on her.

My, I mean, G-Pa's New Toy

A post from Jacey....

Hi there everyone. Mommy finally let me write on her blog! I wanted to tell you all about this really cool toy my G-Pa brought over to my house today. People keep telling me it is my birthday today, so I guess this thing was all for me! How cool is that! Mommy keeps telling me that it is not all mine and that I have to share with G-Pa. I wonder what I will get when I turn one year old if this is what I get when I am only 6 months old! As you can see, Daddy let me drive. I will be such a good driver when I grow up. I think it will be really fun to ride this down to the river with my family and go fishing. I am not really sure what fishing is, but G-Pa and Daddy keep talking about it, so it must be a lot of fun. Momma says I should wait and go with her because she usually catches way more fish than Daddy does. I can't wait until I can take my friends to the farm and we can ride the hunting buggy all by ourselves. Momma says that won't happen for a REALLY LONG time, but all I have to do is smile and I bet she will let me do whatever I want. I am starting to get a little sleepy, so I guess I better go to bed. It was fun talking to all of you. I hope Mommy lets me write on her blog again soon!

6 Months!

Can you believe it, our little baby is 6 MONTHS OLD!!!! This has been the greatest 6 months ever. we have been having so much fun. I know I say that every time, but it just keeps getting more and more fun. This little girl is so precious to us!

Jacey had her 6 months doctor appointment on her birthday...shots on her birthday...not nice! She did so good though. She got 3 shots today, and she only cried with one of them for about 15 seconds or so. We were so proud of her! She is 26 inches long (75th percentile) and weighs in at a wopping 17 pounds and 14 ounces (90th percentile). She got upgraded to stage 2 baby food.

Here is what she has been up to this past month:

-She has really started reaching for things, especially people's glasses, jewelry and cell phones!

-She is trying really hard to sit up on her own, but not there quite yet.

-She is enjoying being in her exersaucer a little more which has been nice for mommy to get supper cooked.

-She is more and more vocal all the time. She really likes to hear herself talk, I think. She does this funny little growl. She is going to be a monkey for Halloween, but I think I might should have chosen the lion!

-She is able to eat some fruit now. So far we have tried bananas, peaches and applesause. Much to our suprise she does not like peaches at all!

-She is rolling all over the place.

-She is very alert and knows her momma and daddy's voices...melts our hearts!

- She continues to be a very happy and very good baby!

Glad to be home

I just love this little girl to pieces! She is so sweet and such a great baby! Thank you Lord, for such a precious gift.

We just got home a little while ago from Will and Maranda's wedding in Brenham. We had a really good time. It was good to get out of town and away from home for a few days. Jacey did great for the long car ride of about 5 1/2 hours! She was good during the ceremony too. I was really nervous that she was going to make one of her loud squawks during the wedding, but she didn't make a peep! We didn't stay at the reception too long....mostly because the electricity went out! Will and Maranda will have a story to tell that is for sure! They had to do the garter toss and bouquet toss on the dark! It was pretty comical!

Jacey was a little tired of being in the car just as we started to get into town, so when we got home I put her in her floor to play while I put up her stuff. As you can see below, she was having a ball! I found her playing with that little thing on the base board that keeps the door from hitting the wall. She was content for quite a while with that thing!

Jacey Fix

It seems like forever since I have posted any pictures of my little angel, so I found these two recent pictures and thought I would share them with you. I loved this little brown and white outfit. I almost waited too long for her to wear it because it is a little snug around her little fat thighs! The other one is of her and her daddy before church yesterday. She got a lot of compliments on her little outfit...another one I almost waited too long for her to wear. I have a bad habit of waiting for special occasions to wear some of my favorite outfits. I want them to look new for that occasion, so I wait. She has almost outgrown several outfits because I do that.....ya think it means she might have too many clothes.....nah, never too many clothes!

Going Out to Eat

Nonnie was here in town last week and decided to stay long enough to go out to eat. Jacey got all dressed up in a cute outfit and we went to The Pelican. It was really yummy. Jacey did so good. She did not cry one time! She played in her infant carrier with her little baby and just had a ball. She is such a good baby, I just love this little girl to pieces!

Eating with Hana

Hana got to feed Jacey for the first time. She did real good, but I think Jacey thought Hana wasn't going quite fast enough so she stole the spoon from her and decided to feed herself! Jacey and Hana had a lot of fun. Hana came to babysit while Craig and I went to Wednesday night church.

Heidi and The Frog

One night after it had been raining Heidi went outside and found her a little friend. She was so funny with the little frog. She would almost get nose to nose with it and wag her tail real big. It was pretty cute. Then she started pawing it and if it jumped she would chase it. She flipped it over one time and I think she wasn't quite sure what to do with it then!

5 Months!

It is so hard to believe that Miss Jacey Kate is 5 Months old already! She is getting so much personality more and more everyday. She makes us laugh a whole lot. The sweetest thing is when she smiles and wrinkles up her little nose. The funniest thing is her noises. There are so many, I don't think I could even begin to describe them all. I think I speak for Craig too when I say these have been the best 5 months of our lives!

What Jacey is up to now:

- She is has been eating veggies and cereal for about a month now. We have tried green beans, squash, and sweet potatoes. Her favorite has been the sweet potatoes. She also has been doing the rice cereal in the mornings...not lovin' that too much.

- She is rolling over from both sides and is going from her tummy to her back now too.

- She is becoming a Daddy's girl more and more everyday. Her little face lights up when she sees him. He is able to get her to laugh too with his rapping...yep, that was no typo!

- She still loves her bath and her swing.

- We got a rug a few weeks ago so she could roll around on the floor without having to be on the hard wood floors. She seems to really like it.

- She is still being inconsistent with sleeping through the night. She is waking up usually once, every now and then she sleeps through the night.

- She is wearing mostly all 3-6 month clothes, and size 2 diapers.

- She has stayed in the church nursery. We started going to a marriage class on Wednesdays so we thought it would be a good time to try it out. She did fine. We have not had to take her on Sundays because we have a really nice nursing moms room that we sit in during church and then she has been going with us to Sunday school.

We love you Jacey Kate! Can't wait to see what you will do in the coming month!

Squash

We are in a big girl high chair now! She seems to like it much better than the bumbo. She was starting to get a little stuck in the bumbo and it would make her a little angry! This is much better!

Miss Jacey has been LOVING her squash! It took a whole week to get through one little thing of green beans, but she halfway through her second thing of the squash in just half a week! She is doing a little better with the cereal too, but doesn't just love it. I was a little worried about this whole food thing for a while, but she is starting to get it. Guess it just took us both a little getting used to!

I Can Fly!!!

Jacey loves to fly with G-Pa as you can see! He brought her those adorable little shoes...aren't they just too cute! Thanks G-Pa!

Exersaucer!!!

I got this for Jacey the day she had her 4 month appointment. I knew she was going to get shots and I wanted to get her a treat! I know she doesn't have a clue about the whole "treat" thing, but Momma sure felt better getting her something fun after those yucky shots! Do you think she is spoiled?

3 Boo-Boos

Poor Jacey Kate had to get 3 mean shots today at her 4 month appointment! It was not fun for any of us. I have been dreading it for the past week, and have prayed for her all day today. She did pretty good, we were proud of her! Of course she screamed her little head off...so much that the top of her head was all splotchy when we left.

Here is her 4 month info:

-15 pounds 12 ounces; 90th percentile

-25 1/2 inches; 90th percentile

-not sure what the head measurement was but it was in the 75th percentile

Doctor said these were all normal and good percentiles!

Green Bean Hater!!!

At our 4 month appointment today, we learned we can start several new things. I had no idea we would get to start food...I was just thinking we would probably start cereal. But Mommy was wrong, we get to start veggies, cereal, and water in a sippy cup! Craig and I went straight to Target after her appointment to get all the needed things for all this new stuff we get to try! Craig and I both wanted to cry. We just could not believe she was going to get to start all these things. She just is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!! As you can see Miss Jacey did not care for green beans at all! The poor thing gagged and made all sorts of awful faces! Next week we will try to pick a more appetizing veggie like maybe squash. Mommy and Daddy love squash so maybe Jacey Kate will too!

Am I Cute Or What!!!

These are a few of the pictures I took over the weekend. The red dress is what she wore to church on Sunday. There was an older lady that saw her as we were coming down the stairs from our LIFE group (sunday school) and she just about went nuts! It was so cute. The lady was clapping her hands and just about squilling she asked me if she could touch her! haha I thought it was so sweet...and of course I let her "touch her"!

This is about my only good one in my favorite outfit. It took many tries. She was eating the flower in just about all the others! I am still trying to figure out if I want to have her picture made in it or not. I am pretty sure it would be a little hard to get a good one if all she wants to do is eat her shirt! haha

The zebra outfit is one Melissa got her before she was born. I think it matches Melissa's personality well...cute and wild!!!!

Jacey's New Thing

Jacey loves her Sassy Jumper!! She didn't stay in it real long, but long enough for the first time. It looks like she is having a good time! She didn't really jump too much, but she did turn in lots of circles!

My New Thing

These are not the best pictures in the world, and don't do the loveys much justice, but here they are. This is my newest thing! Jacey has really started to love some of her little loveys. She was given one kinda like this, and one day I decided I wanted to try to make one. Well, one turned into many and hopefully many more. I had one with me at a children's store here and asked them if they might want to sell them and they did!!! I was excited...then they said they wanted 12! I have been working on them all week and will take them Monday to see which ones they pick and if they want more! They have been a lot of fun to make. I have been going nuts getting tons of ribbon. I sure hope they want more or I will have a ton of ribbon on my hands!!!

Mommy's Favorite Outfit

I just about went crazy trying to get a good picture of her in this. This is about the best we did so far! All she wanted to do was put the flower in her mouth! Then I realized I forgot to put the little shoes on that matched. All those that I took with the shoes on were not good. Will try again later. She is sleeping now and I had a little time to blog, so I went ahead and posted what I had. I would love to have her picture made in this, but I think any photographer might want to choke us if all she wants to do is eat her shirt! Mom got her this cute little outfit before she was born, and I just love it. I almost waited too long for her to wear it because it was a little hard to get on this morning!

4 Month Birthday!

It is so hard to believe Miss Jacey Kate is 4 Months old! I know I am a day lost in posting this, but I did take the picture yesterday. She is getting to be more and more fun everyday. It seems like she has done something new every week for the past few weekends! The funniest thing is her new "motor boat" sound! It is pretty funny. She seems to do it most when she is a little frustrated! Now for where we are at four months.....Jacey is still wearing a size two diaper, we are kinda in between sizes, but twos work a little better than the ones. She is wearing pretty much all 3-6 months in her clothes. I have been excited that she has been able to wear some things this past week that we hadn't been able to yet. We were starting to get tired of some of the old stuff! She is rolling over all over the place like a little rollie pollie! She is still loving her swing and her thumb! haha I have given up worring about her being a thumb sucker. I am sad to admit, I even think it is kinda cute sometimes. It just may not be cute if she is still sucking when she is 5 or like my mom...16! Yes, that is right. Mom sucked her thumb until she was 16! She still sleeps on her back when she is home, but her babysitter says she most always sleeps on her tummy there. I have one of those wedge things so she can't turn over. Her babysitter says she will try to turn her over and she will leave the room and come back and she will be on her tummy again. Jacey has shown us her precious little laugh a few times. It is the sweetest sound! That is about all I can think of right now that she has done since last month. I think I need to start writing things down as they happen so I don't forget when they happen. Have a happy friday! I am off today and spending the day with my girl, so I know we are going to have a great day!

Craig usually gives Jacey her bath every night and dresses her. I picked her pajamas out this one night because I wanted her to wear this one outfit. Craig hardly ever picks it because it is a little more difficult to get on than most of her pajamas. And you see what happens when something is a little difficult to put on...it gets put on backwards! haha

Time for Church

We finally were able to go to church a couple of weeks ago, and look how cute we were! Her doctor asked us to wait to take her until she was at least three months old. Most of our Sunday school class gave us heck for waiting so long, but we were the paranoid parents who chose to do what the doctor asked. Better to be safe than sorry! Anyway, she did so good and got lots of love! Thank you Chapman's for my cute little dress!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad! I hope you know how much you are missed and how much we all love you! Isn't that the best smile! I miss it more than words can say! I hope you all find a little smile yourself when you see this and just remember what an amazing man this is. I am so very proud to call him my Dad! Happy Birthday Old Man! (that is what I told him every birthday, he would say "Who me?")

I just love these pictures and had to share1 My cousin's wife took these at our family reunion over the 4th of July. Kristy is an amazing photographer! The bottom left picture cracks me up..it looks like she is about to punch Kristy in the nose! Kristy took a ton of pictures that I will be putting on the blog hopefully sometime soon.

Jacey is growing more and more every day. She is not quite rolling over yet, but she is getting pretty darn close. She has started laughing though and it is priceless. If I can catch it on video I will try to get brave and attempt to post that on here too. I know it can be done, it is just if this chick here can figure out how to get it posted!

Another Good Weekend!!

Jacey apparently likes her Mommy's singing! I was singing "Jesus Loves Me" to her and she was just smiling the whole time. It was a precious moment that I won't forget! She is such a precious baby, and then she does things like this........(see below)

The little toot has found her thumb!!! Mommy and Daddy aren't real thrilled, but what do ya do! We have tried to introduce the paci on several occasions, but she just doesn't seem to like it too much. She is still precious and I have to admit it makes me laugh. I just hope it is a habit that she will get rid of before too long...somehow I doubt it though.
